Water: Peruvian lily thrives in tropical settings, requiring consistent moisture. Water weekly to maintain slightly moist soil without waterlogging. Moderately drought-tolerant, it prefers higher humidity, making it ideal for bathrooms or kitchens where moisture levels are elevated.
Fertilize: For optimal growth and blooms, fertilize peruvian lily monthly during spring and summer using balanced nutrition or high phosphorus fertilizers. During dormancy in fall and winter, reduce application. Ensure even distribution around the base, avoiding direct contact, and rinse spills to prevent burns.
Pruning: Peruvian lily features vibrant two-tone flowers. Prune in early to late spring to eliminate spent blooms and foster new growth. Trim dead stems and yellowing leaves for enhanced shape and health, promoting air circulation and reducing disease risk. These practices support robust blooming and plant vitality.
Propagation: Peruvian lily is a unique South American plant known for its vibrant flowers. To propagate peruvian lily, divide bulb clumps during dormancy, ensuring each division retains roots. Plant sections at the correct depth in well-draining soil, preserving peruvian lily's distinct characteristics and aiding enthusiasts in expanding their collection.
