Evergreen shrub up to 5 m in height. The diameter is about 20 cm but often branches from the root. The bark is greyish-brown the new branches are brown and sometimes hairy and the second year will cause skin. The leaves are egg-shaped the tip is slightly recessed the base is wedge-shaped and the length is 2 to 4 cm. Leaf quality is thick and hard. The front side is dark green and has a strong luster and the edges have wavy saw blades but the edge of the leaves warps back and is not noticeable. The twigs come out sideways and the leaves are arranged in two rows and spread horizontally. This point is the same as Hisakaki but because of the dense leaves this species has a strong impression. In fall-winter 1-3 flowers bunch in leaf buds and turn downward. The five white petals snuggle up to the point. The fruit is 5 mm in diameter round and ripens black. Almost all leaves are attached to the roots of flowers.

Water:
Emarginate eurya excels in subtropical habitats and is moderately drought-tolerant. Water once every 2-3 weeks, allowing the soil to dry slightly. As an evergreen, emarginate eurya retains moisture in its leaves year-round and is commonly grown outdoors for its resilience and foliage.
Fertilize:
For emarginate eurya, use balanced fertilizers (10-10-10) during growth and high-nitrogen ones for foliage. Fertilize monthly in growing seasons, bi-monthly in dormancy. Apply at 1/4 - 1/2 strength. Proper fertilization promotes growth; over-fertilization causes root burn, while under-fertilization weakens plants.
Pruning:
Emarginate eurya thrives with winter pruning, which involves removing dead branches, thinning for air circulation, and shaping for aesthetics. Use clean, sharp tools to prevent damage. This practice promotes healthier growth and improves overall structure while balancing the removal of old growth with the encouragement of new shoots.
Propagation:
To propagate emarginate eurya, use healthy semi-woody stem cuttings of appropriate length with a few leaves. Trim excess foliage and dip the cut end in rooting hormone. Plant in well-draining soil, maintain humidity and warmth, and transplant once roots are established.
