Flacourtia is a genus of flowering plants in the willow family, Salicaceae. It contains 15 species of shrubs and small trees that are native to the African and Asian tropics and subtropics.
Water:
Flacourtia prefers subtropical conditions with moderate humidity and consistent moisture without waterlogging. It should be watered biweekly, as it has low drought tolerance. Mulching is beneficial for moisture retention during the growing season, promoting healthy growth and fruit production.
Propagation:
Flacourtia can be propagated through seed sowing and softwood cuttings. Seeds need scarification and soaking in well-draining soil at 20-25°C. Cuttings should be taken in spring, treated with rooting hormone, and kept in high humidity at 20-25°C until rooted, making propagation moderately difficult.
