It is an evergreen herbaceous perennial plant growing to 30 to 45 cm (rarely 75 cm) tall. The leaves are a rounded cardioid (heart) shape, with a serrated margin with rounded "teeth". The flowers are white in color and on a single spike-like raceme on top of a tall stem. Each individual flower has five petals. The fruit is a small capsule containing numerous seeds. Wandplants contains a single species. It is native to the southeastern United States.
Water:
Wandplants prefers consistently moist soil and high humidity, akin to its forest understory habitat. While moderately drought-tolerant, it benefits from weekly watering and regular misting to maintain optimal hydration and replicate its native conditions.
Propagation:
Wandplants propagation is primarily through division and sowing seeds. Successful growth requires diffuse light, cool temperatures, and well-draining acidic soil. Maintain high humidity, avoid direct sunlight, and ensure consistent moisture for seed germination. Divide rosette offsets in spring, planting with roots and proper substrate.
