The young plant is typical of brooms, clothed in narrow linear leaves which soon drop off leaving almost bare branches. As it ages the shrub develops into a shapely small tree with a greenish bark, growing to 8 metres if given room to develop. The terminal branches have a tendency to droop and weep. Abundant pea-like, yellow, jasmine-scented flowers cover the whole crown in late summer.

Water:
Mt. etna broom prefers dry, well-drained soils and thrives in sunny, rocky conditions. It is drought-tolerant once established, requiring weekly watering for optimal growth without over-saturation. Ideal for outdoor cultivation, mt. etna broom benefits from natural rainfall and demonstrates low-maintenance water needs.
Fertilize:
To maintain mt. etna broom's health, apply balanced fertilizers in spring and high nitrogen fertilizers in midsummer, adjusting quantity based on plant size. Feed quarterly at half-strength to avoid root burn, and reduce during dormancy. Follow specific product guidelines for optimal results without direct contact to enhance resilience.
Pruning:
Mt. etna broom features bright yellow flowers and arching branches. Prune in early to late winter to remove weak growth and promote airflow, aligning with dormancy for vibrant blooms. Regular pruning enhances health and structure, minimizing disease risk, according to reliable horticultural sources.
Propagation:
Mt. etna broom propagates best with cuttings from healthy, mature stems. Use rooting hormone to enhance root development. Plant in well-draining soil with humidity control, ample sunlight, and stable temperatures to ensure healthy growth.
