Water:
Wax plant, native to humid tropics, thrives in high humidity and consistent moisture. Water every three weeks, allowing slight soil dryness. Regular misting helps maintain vibrant foliage, replicating its natural habitat. This evergreen plant is ideal for indoor cultivation.
Fertilize:
For optimal growth of wax plant, use a high-nitrogen fertilizer monthly from spring to winter. About two months before blooming, switch to a high-phosphorus fertilizer. Resume high-nitrogen once blooming starts for lush foliage and healthy flowers.
Pruning:
The wax plant does not require pruning; new growth and flowers emerge from its tendrils. Light trimming for size control or dead growth removal is acceptable in early spring, but avoid pruning outside this period as it can harm the plant.
Propagation:
To propagate wax plant, take cuttings in spring or summer, use rooting hormone, and plant in well-drained mix. Keep moist. Maturation and potential blooming take approximately two years.
