Water:
During the initial months, iberis ciliata requires frequent watering, allowing soil to dry between sessions. Afterward, it withstands drought and needs minimal watering, especially in summer. Prefer infrequent, heavy watering averaging 2-3 cm annually, using a soaker hose instead of overhead irrigation.
Fertilize:
For fertilizing iberis ciliata, use a low nitrogen fertilizer like 5-10-5 to promote flowering. Apply a handful around the base in early spring, with two more applications 6 weeks apart. After winter blooms, switch to a balanced NPK slow-release fertilizer or monthly liquid feed.
Pruning:
After flowering, lightly trim iberis ciliata by cutting back approximately 1/3 to encourage new blooms. Regularly deadhead wilted flowers, and avoid pruning in fall or early spring. Watch for dying plants and replace them, while controlling growth every other year, and manage weeds through mulching.
