Guatecare is a small, flowering tree that is a food source for multiple species of small monkey, including the white-faced saki. Unfortunately for the tree, many monkeys seem to have developed a taste for crunching its seeds instead of dispersing them. It's still a pretty successful species despite many of its reproduction attempts ending as a simian snack, and is not considered endangered. Its wood is used locally for building materials and making carvings.

Water:
Guatecare thrives in humidity and prefers consistent moisture. Watering weekly optimally maintains health, balancing drought resistance and hydration needs. Typically grown indoors, guatecare benefits from placement in humid conditions, enhancing growth cycles and overall vitality.
Fertilize:
Fertilize guatecare with balanced nutrition during growth, switching to high-nitrogen monthly for leaf production. Reduce applications in dormancy to prevent root burn. Adjust for cooler months, ensuring responsible measurement to protect the ecosystem.
Pruning:
Prune guatecare in early to late winter during dormancy for optimal regrowth. Remove dead branches for better airflow and sunlight. Shape to maintain form and control size. Avoid over-pruning to ensure blooming, and use well-draining soil with minimal fertilizer during this period.
Propagation:
To propagate guatecare, use healthy cuttings with rooting hormone in well-draining, fertile soil. Maintain moisture without waterlogging and provide indirect light. Protect from harsh conditions until established, ensuring genetic consistency and robust development of desired traits.
