Water: Lilies 'Black Out' prefers moist conditions but cannot tolerate standing water. Maintain a strict watering schedule during seedling development, reducing frequency post-emergence, unless drought occurs. Water after topdressing and ensure proper soil drainage, especially during rainy periods.
Fertilize: Fertilize seedlings early to support stem growth, then amend soil based on conditions. Apply compound base fertilizer before sowing and again when seedlings reach 10 cm (4 in). Amend soil twice during the season, especially during rapid growth and bulb enlargement periods.
Pruning: Lilies 'Black Out', with its stunning dark blooms, thrives with proper pruning in early to late spring as new shoots appear. Remove spent stalks and damaged leaves to boost growth and flower production. Use clean, sharp tools for pruning to prevent infections and improve air circulation.
