Oroxylum is a monotypic genus of flowering plant in the family Bignoniaceae. It can reach a height of 18 m. The large leaf stalks wither and fall off the tree. The pinnate leaves are approximately 1.006 m in length and comparably wide, borne on petioles or stalks up to 2 m in length. They form enormous seed pods – the fruits – are up to 1.5 m long that hang down from bare branches, resembling swords. The long fruits curve downward. The seeds are round with papery wings. Oroxylum is native to Asia.
