Succulent & Cactus Soil
Soil Type
Water: Native to arid regions, silver ball cactus exhibits high drought tolerance and requires watering only once every three weeks. It conserves water in its spherical stem, thrives in well-draining soil, and is resilient, making it an ideal low-maintenance indoor plant.
Fertilize: To enhance silver ball cactus's growth, apply a balanced Succulents and Cacti Food every 4-6 weeks during spring-summer at a quarter strength. Stop fertilization in fall and winter. Water the soil before feeding, and watch for overfertilization signs like salt buildup or leaf discoloration.
Pruning: Silver ball cactus requires minimal pruning. Regularly remove withered flowers and branches to ensure the plant focuses nutrients on healthy growth, promoting vitality.
Propagation: Silver ball cactus is a small, globose cactus with a silver appearance due to its dense spines. For propagation, use a sterile knife for cuttings, allow callousing, and plant in well-draining mix. Maintain light moisture and bright, indirect light to support rooting, requiring patience for establishment.
Repotting: Repot 'silver ball cactus' every few years in spring, using a slightly larger pot with excellent drainage. After repotting, place in bright indirect light and refrain from watering for a week to help roots settle and promote thriving growth.
