Empress tree is a fast-growing tree that reaches its full height at 12 m. Its branches are a red brown colour and when the branches get “old” they hollow out. If you look closely you’ll see the underside of the leaves are hairy. This tree's wood is sometimes harvested for the construction of musical instruments and furniture.
