Water: Sakhalin spruce prefers high humidity and moisture-rich environments, thriving with watering every 1-2 weeks. As an evergreen, it maintains foliage year-round and requires consistent hydration for a lush appearance.
Fertilize: Applying base fertilizers before transplanting supports sakhalin spruce's nutrient absorption, especially with bi-weekly nitrogen and phosphorus in the first year. Post-maturity, fertilize 2-4 times yearly. Use organic fertilizer for optimal growth and soil health, and water if the soil dries after application.
Pruning: Sakhalin spruce has dense, evergreen foliage and thrives in cool, moist areas. Prune in early spring, removing dead or damaged branches to enhance air circulation. Light trimming maintains shape and encourages vigorous growth, reducing pest risks for a healthier plant.
Propagation: Propagate sakhalin spruce through cuttings by selecting year-old branches in summer, cut to 10-20 cm. Use a rooting solution and plant in sterilized, moist soil, spaced 20-30 cm apart. Maintain moisture until rooted, then transplant outdoors by early spring of the following year.
