Water: Water cherry blossom based on its growth stage, local weather, and soil condition. Water once before budding and monthly from mid-spring to pre-fall. Ensure thorough watering until drainage stops, then loosen soil and remove weeds. Cease watering in autumn and winter to prevent frost damage.
Fertilize: Cherry blossom requires fertilization for healthy growth and fruit production. Use organic fertilizer, applying it in a circular trench 38 cm (15 in) deep and 28 cm (11 in) wide. Fertilize twice annually: before blooming and during fruit development to enhance yield.
Pruning: Cherry blossom thrives with strategic pruning, focusing on removing dead branches, thinning, and shaping. Prune in early spring for healthy growth and flowering. Benefits include better air circulation and reduced disease risk. Use sharp, clean tools and avoid heavy pruning to prevent stress.
Propagation: Cherry blossom can be propagated by grafting. Choose healthy scions with 3-4 developed buds in mid-spring or use buds in summer. Make a T-shaped cut in the stock, insert the bud, and bind with plastic. After 10-20 days, remove the wrap once healed.
