Lobb's buttercup
Lobb's buttercup is a superbly adapted perennial with lush, rounded, green leaves and vibrant yellow flowers that bloom in the cool, damp habitats it prefers. Its blossoms, resembling miniature, ruffly buttercups, consist of numerous petals which can attract pollinators even in low-light understories. The plant thrives alongside streams and in moist meadows, a testament to its affinity for wet environments.

Water: Water lobb's buttercup only when the soil is dry during seedling stage. In peak growing season, provide 9-10 mm weekly, reducing in winter. Keep soil slightly moist after flower bud development; limit watering in summer, and reduce further in winter.
Fertilize: Before planting lobb's buttercup, incorporate 1/3 fully decomposed organic fertilizer into the soil. After planting, use diluted NPK during bloom. Once flowers fade, apply potassium or phosphorus-rich fertilizer and continue until foliage yellowing and leaf drop, indicating energy storage in corms.
Pruning: Lobb's buttercup should be pruned in early spring to encourage healthy growth and vibrant blooms. Key techniques include removing dead stems and thinning overcrowded areas for improved air circulation. Regular pruning helps manage spread and maintains the plant's appearance, promoting overall health.
Propagation: Lobb's buttercup can be propagated through corms, seeds, or ramets, with ramet planting in fall. Carefully separate the stock plant ensuring each part has 1-2 buds and 3-4 roots. Disinfect in 1% potassium permanganate, then plant in the open field by fall at temperatures below 20°C (68°F). Germination occurs in about 20 days.
