Each flower has a bell-shaped coat of five whitish, greenish, or pink-tinged sepals which spread at the tips into a corolla-like array, sometimes becoming reflexed. Inside are whitish petals surrounding the stamens and stigmas. The fruit is a blue-black berry a centimeter (1.02 cm) long or longer. It is said to cause violent vomiting shortly after ingestion.

Water:
Adapted to infrequent watering, sticky currant thrives on a schedule of every 2-3 weeks, showcasing drought tolerance. For indoor care, it requires a well-draining soil mix that reflects its preference for arid environments, preventing root water stagnation.
Fertilize:
In spring, apply fully decomposed organic fertilizer for sticky currant. Fertilize twice more in early and mid-summer, emphasizing nitrogen and potassium first, then phosphorous and potassium. Consider slow-release fertilizers, but avoid excessive nitrogen to prevent unwanted branch growth, which can hinder fruit production.
Pruning:
Sticky currant features sticky stems and aromatic leaves, benefiting from early spring pruning. This practice promotes healthy growth by removing dead branches, encourages new shoot development, and enhances light penetration, ultimately boosting the plant's vitality and productivity while minimizing disease risk.
Propagation:
To propagate sticky currant, use a healthy, vertical, one-year-old basal shoot, 15-20 cm long, with two buds. Cut in spring before budding or in fall after leaf drop. Plant immediately, leaving one bud above soil, and keep soil moist. Roots develop in 2-3 weeks; check frequently.
