Silky rose
It is a shrub growing 2 m tall and is often very spiny. The leaves are deciduous, 4 to 8 cm long, with 7–11 leaflets with a serrated margin. The flowers are 2.5 to 5 cm diameter, white, with (unusually for a rose) only four petals. The hips are red, 8 to 15 mm diameter, with persistent sepals, and often bristly.

Soil Type
Water: Silky rose prefers moderate humidity and occasional rainfall, thriving in evenly moist soil with moderate drought tolerance. Water once every 1-2 weeks, allowing soil to dry slightly. Often grown outdoors, silky rose benefits from mulching to retain moisture and support blooming.
Fertilize: Silky rose thrives in fertile soil and benefits from regular fertilization during the growing season. Apply liquid fertilizer bi-weekly in spring and summer, and use slow-release options every two months. For fresh-cut flowers, fertilize weekly and prune weak branches. Mycorrhizal fungi can enhance nutrient absorption.
Pruning: Silky rose thrives with strong growth but requires timely pruning to prevent disease and pests in poor conditions. After blooming, prune off faded flowers and thin branches. For vines, maintain 2-3 m lengths; for bush plants, prune to 1/3 height, leaving 4-6 strong branches.
Propagation: Silky rose can be propagated through grafting, division, and cutting. Grafting is optimal from late summer to early autumn using multiflora rose as rootstock. Division is done in early spring or late autumn. Cuttings taken in spring or autumn can root in 20-30 days with a survival rate of 70-80%.
