Scindapsus are a genus of tropical evergreen climbing vines. The Latin name was traced back to the ancient Roman teacher Claudius Aelianus, who used it in relation to an Indian musical instrument utilized for taming wild elephants. Some species are highly popular as houseplants, with many attractive variegated forms available in addition to the wild ones.
Scindapsus plants contain calcium oxalate crystals that are moderately poisonous to cats and mildly to moderately toxic to dogs. Ingestion or contact with any part of the plant can cause mouth irritation, swelling, drooling, vomiting, and difficulty swallowing. If severe reactions occur, seek veterinary treatment immediately.

Water:
Thriving in humidity, scindapsus requires consistent moisture without waterlogging. Water weekly to maintain lush foliage, and ensure high humidity with regular misting to mimic its tropical rainforest habitat, promoting vibrant growth year-round as an evergreen plant commonly grown indoors.
Propagation:
Propagation of scindapsus mainly involves stem cuttings and air layering. Optimal conditions include 18-27°C (65-80°F), high humidity, and indirect light. Use well-draining soil and monitor for root rot. Expect root development in 4-6 weeks after proper preparation and care.
