Sierra triteleia is a charming perennial known for its clumps of grass-like leaves and fetching clusters of blue or purple flowers. Each bloom, on slender stalks reaching above the foliage, is shaped like a funnel, leading to its common name, the mountain brodiaea. Thriving in mountainous regions, sierra triteleia is adapted to rocky, well-drained soils, blooming profusely in late spring to early summer, adding a splash of color to alpine meadows.
