Chaste trees are a group of shrubs and trees in the mint family. Most grow in subtropical or tropical environments, although a few grow in more temperate areas as well. Chaste trees have a wide variety of uses - some are harvested for timber, others are used in weaving or basket making, while still others are planted ornamentally, especially in warm-climate regions.
Water:
Originating from subtropical and temperate regions, chaste trees prefers well-drained soil and moderate moisture. Water every 1-2 weeks, allowing for slight soil dryness between sessions. Watering needs decrease during dormancy in cooler months, reflecting its drought-tolerant adaptability.
Propagation:
Propagation of chaste trees involves seed sowing and cuttings. Success depends on well-draining soil, 21-24°C (70-75°F) temperatures, and sufficient light. Seeds may need stratification. Challenges include seed dormancy and rooting cuttings, often requiring rooting hormone and specific care for semi-hardwood cuttings.
