Xanthophyllum is a genus of about 94 species. Xanthophyllum species grow as trees or shrubs. Their twigs are often smooth and are coloured green or yellow. Leaves, when not drying yellow, dry green or dark brown. Flowers feature five petals. The mostly roundish fruits are not winged. Xanthophyllum grows naturally from tropical Asia to northern Australia.
Water:
Originating from regions with limited rainfall, xanthophyllum efficiently retains water and prefers drier conditions. It needs moderate watering every 2-3 weeks and thrives indoors with controlled humidity. During the growing season, consistent moisture supports its robust development.
Propagation:
Xanthophyllum can be propagated from seed sowing by providing warm temperatures, consistent moisture, and well-draining soil enriched with organic material. Germination may take several weeks, with fresh seeds enhancing success. Environmental conditions are key to moderate difficulty in propagation.
