Dwarf eelgrass
Zostera noltii has a creeping rhizome that runs along under the surface of the seabed. Groups of two to five strap-shaped leaves grow out of nodes on the rhizome and each node also bears a tuft of up to four short roots that anchor the plant in the sediment. The leaves have three irregular, longitudinal veins and blunt, notched ends.

Water: Dwarf eelgrass originates from marine meadows, thriving in saline waters with high salt tolerance. It requires minimal watering, about once a week. Found outdoors, dwarf eelgrass stabilizes sediment, oxygenates water, and provides habitat for marine life, significantly contributing to coastal ecosystems.
Pruning: Dwarf eelgrass features slender, grass-like leaves and thrives in saline areas. Prune dead or damaged leaves in spring to enhance growth without over-stressing the plant. Regular pruning maintains density, which is vital for aquatic ecosystems. Consult horticultural guides for detailed care instructions.
Propagation: Dwarf eelgrass is a marine angiosperm found in underwater meadows, crucial for coastal ecosystems. Successful propagation involves cutting healthy rhizomes or shoots, ensuring adequate length and nodes. Maintaining suitable water conditions is essential for dwarf eelgrass to establish, contributing to habitat sustainability.
