How do you propagate purple allamanda?
Purple allamanda is propagated easily through stem tip cuttings. For the best chances of success, cuttings should be taken from a fresh, green shoot early in the growing season. The cut end of the shoot that has been removed should be dipped in rooting hormone and potted into a fresh pot of seed-starting soil. The pot and cutting should then be placed into a warm, humid environment with heat provided from underneath. The cutting can be re-potted into a larger container once new growth has emerged. To avoid transplant shock, the seedlings can be covered with a shaded veil for up to a month after planting outside – particularly is the weather is hot.
