How often should ivy geranium be watered?
You can regularly test soil hydration with your finger. Watering is required if the soil 2 cm deep is dry. In spring and fall, the soil should be thoroughly watered and the excessive water should easily drain afterward. The succulent stems of ivy geranium are not resistant to water and moisture and will rot with too-frequent watering and water accumulation.
In summer and winter, only a small amount of water is required: about a quarter of the volume of the flowerpot soil. Water should be poured along the flowerpot edge. Water the soil in the morning in spring and fall, and in the morning or at night in summer. Water at noon in winter.
Slightly acidic or neutral soft water contains fewer minerals, which is most suitable for watering ivy geranium. Rainwater, river water, and lake water are examples of appropriate soft water. Tap water can be used to water the plants after being stored for one or two days because some minerals precipitate and the water temperature at this point will be similar to the ambient temperature.
