Is redbay easy to grow?
Redbay can be relatively easy to grow under the right conditions. It thrives in well-drained soils, coastal hammocks, and maritime forests. Redbay prefers acidic to neutral pH soils and requires moderate moisture. Protect it from cold drafts and frost, and provide partial to full sunlight. Although adaptable, redbay may be affected by pests such as the redbay ambrosia beetle. Proper care and site selection can increase the likelihood of successful growth.
