Sea plantain, also known as Seaside plantain

Sea plantain thrives in salty and sandy soils, reflecting its coastal habitat adaptability. Sea plantain is a robust herbaceous perennial that features a stout taproot with a dense rosette of narrow, fleshy leaves, each reaching 2 to 3 inches (5 to 7.5 cm) in length. These mid-green leaves taper to a point and contribute to the plant's height of approximately 6 inches (15 cm). From late spring to late summer, sea plantain produces upright, tight flowering spikes about 6 inches (15 cm) tall. The greenish flowers are small, yet distinguishable by their tightly held formations and yellow stamens that extend outward.
