From Ground: Start by watering the canton fairy bells plant to soften the soil around the roots. Using a spade or shovel, dig a horizontal trench around the plant, careful to keep the root ball intact. The trench needs to be deep enough to capture most of the roots. Once the trench is dug up, start loosening the soil under the root ball, eventually lifting the plant out of its original location.
From Pot: Again, make sure to water the canton fairy bells plant in the pot until the soil is moist. Put on the gloves and turn the pot sideways, gently easing the plant and its root ball out. Be careful not to tug at the stem or foliage.
From Seedling Tray: Carefully lift the canton fairy bells seedling by its leaves instead of the stem, to prevent any damage. Use a trowel or similar tool to lever the seedling out, ensuring you bring as many roots as possible. Before lifting the seedling, water it well.
