From Ground: Firstly, water the plain gentian plant to moisten the soil to ease removing the plant. Use the shovel or garden spade to dig around the plant, ensuring to preserve the root ball intact. Gently slide your tool under the root ball and lift the plant gently from the ground. Place it on your tarp.
From Pot: Water the plain gentian plant and gently turn the pot upside down. Pat the bottom to help slide the plant out. Be careful not to damage the root system. Once the plant is out, use your fingers to lightly tease apart the roots if they have become compacted or knotted.
From Seedling Tray: Water the seedling tray to moisten the soil to make it easier to remove the seedlings. Gently hold each seedling at the root and slide them out carefully. They are delicate and should be handle with care.
