From Ground: To remove the annual candytuft from the ground, first, brush away any mulch or loose leaves from around the base of the plant. Then, using a gardening spade or shovel, carefully dig a wide trench around the plant, taking special care to not slice into the root ball. Tilt the spade handle underneath the root ball to lift the plant from the ground.
From Pot: If the annual candytuft is in a pot, water it well before starting. Turn the pot sideways, hold the plant gently by the base, and tap the bottom of the pot to slide it out. Avoid pulling the plant as it may cause damage.
From Seedling Tray: If you're transplanting the annual candytuft from a seedling tray, make sure to water the tray first. This makes the seedling and its root ball come out more easily. Gently pull the seedling by the leaves, not the stem, and take care to keep the root ball intact.
