From Ground: First, water the bushy lippia thoroughly to dampen the soil and reduce stress to the plant. Then, take your shovel or spade and dig a generous trench around the plant, going out as far as the dripline of the leaves to avoid damaging the root system. Pry the plant gently from the ground while keeping as much soil around the roots as possible.
From Pot: Water the bushy lippia and let it sit for a few minutes to allow moisture to reach the roots. Turn the pot to its side and gently tap to loosen the soil and roots. Carefully slide the plant out while supporting the base and the stem.
From Seedling Tray: Moisten the soil around the seedlings to minimize root disturbance. Using a blunt instrument like a dibber or the end of a pencil, ease each seedling out by pushing up from the bottom of the cell or using the tool to lift the roots gently.
