From Ground: Start by watering the umbrella tree to moisten the soil, it makes it easier to hold the soil together. Next, utilize the Round-Point Shovel to dig a wide area around the plant, making sure the root ball remains intact. Gradually level the spade under the root ball and tenderly lift the plant off the ground.
From a Pot: This is slightly easier. Begin by watering well, which helps in sliding the plant out. Ensure to overturn the pot gently, holding the plant at the base of its stem but do not pull it. Put slight pressure on different pot sides to help the plant get free.
From a Seedling Tray: Carefully hold the umbrella tree by its leaves, not the stem. Use a small implement like a popsicle stick to push the root ball from beneath gently. In this way, you can avoid damaging the roots.
