From Ground: First, water the mexican chia plant to dampen the soil around it. This will make it easier to remove without damaging the roots. Then, dig a wide circle around the plant using a shovel. Ensure that you maintain a good distance from the stem to keep the root ball intact. Gently work the shovel under the root ball and lift the plant.
From Pot: Start by watering the mexican chia plant in its pot. Turn the pot on its side and tap it gently to ease the plant out. Do remember to handle the plant by its root ball and not by the stem to prevent any damage.
From Seedling Tray: If you are starting from seedlings, it’s best to transplant mexican chia once it has grown a few true leaves. Gently hold the seedling by its leaves. Turn the tray sideways and tap it to ease the seedling out. Avoid touching the stem as it is very delicate at this stage.
