From Ground: First, water the alsike clover to dampen the soil which makes it easier to remove the plant. Use a garden spade or shovel to carefully dig a wide berth around the alsike clover, ensuring you are far enough out to not damage the root system. Gently lever the spade under the root ball to loosen and lift the alsike clover from its original location.
From Pot: Water the alsike clover to make the root ball moist and more cohesive. Tip the pot to the side and gently tap the bottom to encourage the alsike clover to slide out. If the plant doesn't come out easily, run a trowel around the inside edge of the pot to loosen the soil.
From Seedling Tray: Moisten the soil to avoid stressing the young alsike clover during the removal. Carefully use a trowel or your fingers to loosen the soil around the seedling. Gently lift the alsike clover from the tray, ensuring to keep as much of the root system and soil intact as possible.
