From Ground: First, irrigate the honewort to moisten the soil, making it easier to work with. With a shovel or spade, dig a generous perimeter around the plant to avoid damaging the roots. Slowly progress under the plant, loosening the soil until the root ball is free, then gently lift it out.
From Pot: Water the honewort in its container to reduce transplant shock. Turn the pot to its side and gently tap or squeeze it to loosen the root ball. Carefully slide the plant out, supporting the root ball with your hand to prevent it from crumbling.
From Seedling Tray: Moisten the soil in the tray to facilitate root ball removal. Use a hand trowel or your fingers to delicately pry the seedling loose while preserving as much of the root system and soil as possible.
