From Ground: First, water nodding yucca thoroughly to dampen the soil. Dig a wide trench around the plant using a spade, keeping a generous distance from the main stem to avoid root damage. Gently work the spade beneath the root ball to lift nodding yucca from the ground.
From Pot: Begin by watering the soil in the pot to lessen root disturbance during removal. Tip the pot sideways and gently tap the bottom and sides to help loosen the root ball. Carefully slide nodding yucca out of the pot while supporting the base of the plant and roots.
From Seedling Tray: Water the tray to make the soil moist and easy to work with. Use a hand trowel or a dibber to gently lift nodding yucca from the cell, taking care to preserve the roots and soil around them.
