From Ground: Initially, water your japanese ginger to moisten the ground. Using your gardening trowel, carefully dig around the plant, making sure the root ball remains intact. Once the soil is loose enough, use the trowel to get underneath the root ball and gently lift the japanese ginger from the ground.
From Pot: Water the japanese ginger to dampen the pot soil. Tilt the pot sideways and give it a gentle tap to loosen the soil. Hold the base of the japanese ginger and pull it out with a gentle twist. If the plant is stubborn, you can run a knife around the inside edge of the pot to help.
From Seedling Tray: Water the seedlings and then use a small tool, like a spoon or fork, to gently scoop out the seedling, including the roots and attached soil.
