How to identify Tiger aloe (Aloe variegata)
Tiger aloe is characterized by its compact rosettes growing to a height of 10 to 12 inches (25 to 30 cm) and a width of up to 9 inches (23 cm). The succulent leaves are boat-shaped and have a noteworthy central groove, edged with tiny, blunt white teeth. Its dark green leaves are adorned with distinctive white spots, often aligning into horizontal bands. During periods of drought stress, the leaves may develop red tinges. The plant produces pink to pale red flowers on sturdy inflorescences.
