Mascarene island leaf flower stands erect, usually with a singular central stem reaching heights of 2 to 3 feet (60 to 90 cm) and features minimal branching. Its leaves are oblong, small, measuring 1/4 to 3/4 inch (0.6 to 1.9 cm) in length, and sit on short lateral branches giving a compound leaf appearance. The greenish-white flowers and round green fruits are found beneath these branches on short stalks. Seeding occurs in warmer months, and the seeds are expelled from the fruits. This plant doesn't produce milky sap when its parts are broken.
