Is Docks toxic to cat?

Many plants of the Rumex genus contain soluble oxalates, chemicals toxic to cats. Ingestion of any part of the docks plant causes mild poisoning manifested in gastrointestinal disturbances such as vomiting, cramps, and diarrhea. A serious or potentially fatal condition can occur only with chronic ingestion or if large amounts of the plant are consumed at once. Seek immediate medical attention in order to avoid developing more severe conditions.

Is Docks toxic to dog?

The foliage of the docks (Rumex) plant is well-known to be moderately toxic to dogs when consumed, so take care if your dog is near this plant. The leaves contain toxins called oxalates, which can cause organ damage and heart failure if large amounts are eaten. Even in small quantities, docks can cause stomach upset.
