Chinese yarrow
The Achillea alpina, also known as chinese yarrow, Alpine yarrow, or Siberian yarrow, is a flowering perennial herbaceous plant native to Asia and North America. Due to similar-looking flowerheads, it can be mixed up with common yarrow (A. millefolium). However, the leaves are distinctly different, with chinese yarrow having flat, linear, stalkless foliage.

Water: Chinese yarrow, from cooler climates, efficiently retains moisture and requires weekly watering. Thriving in moderate humidity, it benefits from natural rainwater, enhancing its growth during the active season, while its balanced water retention makes care straightforward.
Fertilize: Fertilize chinese yarrow with balanced or phosphorus-rich nutrients every 4-6 weeks during spring and summer. Adjust based on size and soil fertility, using slow-release options. Reduce feeding in fall and avoid it in winter to prevent root burn and promote health and blooms.
Pruning: Chinese yarrow features aromatic, fern-like leaves and vibrant flowers. Prune stems to ground level in early spring for growth, and deadhead blooms to extend flowering. Regular pruning maintains shape, enhances air circulation, and removing damaged foliage promotes plant health.
Propagation: Chinese yarrow is a durable perennial that can be easily propagated through division. Carefully separate the root clump into sections with shoots, replant at the same depth, and water adequately to promote root growth. This method rejuvenates the parent plant and expands garden stock efficiently.
