Height is 30 to 60 cm. The main stalk extends straight, but the side branch spreads sideways while branching well. The leaves face each other, are oval with a length of 1 to 2.5 cm, and the texture is hard and glossy on the surface. There are a pair of elongated 1 to 2 cm long spines on the leaf buds. The leaves extend horizontally from the branches, while the thorns extend vertically. Two white, white petal flowers are usually bloomed on the leaf bud. The length of the corolla is about 1 cm. The fruit is a berry with a diameter of 5 to 6 mm. It ripens red in winter, leaving a spear at the tip.

Distribution Map
Indicus is native to a region that includes the southern part of Eastern Asia and parts of Southeast Asia. Its presence spans across a broad range that encompasses both subtropical and tropical areas within these regions. Furthermore, indicus has been introduced to areas outside its native range where it is now cultivated. The plant's adaptability allows it to thrive in new environments, expanding its geographical footprint.

Water:
Indicus thrives in subtropical dry and wet cycles, displaying strong drought tolerance. Water every 2-3 weeks to mimic natural conditions. As an evergreen suitable for indoor growth, it requires well-draining soil to prevent root rot while allowing for occasional moisture.
Fertilize:
Regular fertilization with balanced nutrients enhances indicus's growth, particularly during peak phases. Use high nitrogen fertilizers early to promote foliage. Fertilize every two months, avoiding over-fertilization. Reduce in winter; dilute to half-strength to prevent nutrient burn.
Pruning:
Indicus features dense, evergreen foliage and vibrant berries. Prune in early spring to remove dead or damaged branches, enhancing air circulation and growth. Thinning promotes vigor and abundant flowering. Regular care allows indicus to thrive throughout the growing season.
Propagation:
Indicus, native to shady forests, is valued for ornamental and medicinal purposes. Successful propagation relies on semi-hardwood cuttings from healthy plants and can be enhanced with rooting hormones. An appropriate soil mix, moisture levels, and indirect sunlight support optimal growth post-propagation.
