The globe amaranths are a small group of tropical and warm-temperate flowering plants in the amaranth family. They are so-called because of their pseudo-spherical flower heads. Several species within this genus are popular as ornmamentals – most notably G. globosa, usually just called "Globe Amaranth," out of which several colorful-flowered cultivars have been developed.
Water:
Thriving in tropical environments, globe amaranths prefers consistent moisture but can tolerate brief dryness. Water globe amaranths weekly to support lush growth. As an ornamental plant, mulching is beneficial for moisture retention, especially during its active growing season.
Propagation:
To propagate globe amaranths, sow seeds in moist, well-draining soil, ensuring warm temperatures (~21°C) and indirect light. Maintain consistent moisture without waterlogging. Transplant seedlings when they are manageable. Avoid excessively wet soil to prevent seedling rot for effective propagation.
