Prosopis are native to the dry tropical areas of Asia, Africa, and the Americas. These fast-growing trees and shrubs have long been used for forage crops as well as aromatic fuel. Prosopis are often drought tolerant, with deep tap-roots.
Water:
Adapted to arid climates, prosopis demonstrates high drought tolerance and thrives with minimal moisture. It requires watering every 2-3 weeks, making it low-maintenance. Typically found outdoors, prosopis excels in regions with scarce rainfall, showcasing its ability to conserve water efficiently.
Propagation:
To propagate prosopis , sow seeds in full sun with temperatures of 25-30°C (77-86°F) and well-draining, moderately fertile soil. Scarify and soak seeds for 24 hours to enhance germination. Maintain moisture and transplant seedlings when sturdy; propagation presents moderate challenges.
