Schizopepon dioicus is an Asian species of climbing vine that can be found only in China. The plant's Latin name dioicus refers to its dioecious flowers which are either male or female on each individual plant. The botanist C. Jeffrey believed he had discovered this species in India, but on further analysis, it turned out to be the similar Schizopepon longipes.

Water:
Schizopepon dioicus thrives in balanced water environments and shows impressive drought tolerance. Native to moderately humid regions, it requires watering every three weeks. Primarily grown outdoors, schizopepon dioicus is resilient during the growing season, despite varying rainfall patterns.
Pruning:
Schizopepon dioicus exhibits a unique climbing habit and distinct foliage. Prune in early to late spring, removing dead stems and thinning congested areas for better air circulation and aesthetics. Regular pruning promotes health, growth, and pest prevention. Use clean, sharp tools for best results.
Propagation:
Schizopepon dioicus thrives best when sown from seeds in a well-draining substrate, avoiding waterlogging. Warmth aids germination, though initial growth may be slow. Transplant seedlings into individual pots for health; using a propagator for humidity and careful handling during transplantation is recommended.
