Dunn's tainia
First described in 1908 in a London academic journal about botany, dunn's tainia has quite a unique appearance. Its leaves have a brownish-golden color much closer to that of fine wood than of greenery, and its vibrant yellow flowers have petals that curl inward, making them look somewhat like insects.

Water: Dunn's tainia flourishes in humid, moisture-rich environments, requiring weekly watering to prevent waterlogging. Typically grown indoors, this evergreen maintains consistent hydration year-round, emphasizing the importance of a steady watering schedule regardless of the season.
Fertilize: To enhance dunn's tainia's vigor, use balanced fertilizers during growth and switch to high-phosphorus types before blooming. Fertilize bi-monthly in spring/summer and quarterly in fall/winter. Avoid overtreatment, and consider gradual-release options to support year-round growth by adjusting based on seasonal changes.
Pruning: Dunn's tainia features unique foliage and blooms infrequently. Prune in early spring or late winter, removing dead leaves to enhance growth and airflow. Light pruning promotes health and appearance, while sterile tools prevent infections. Refer to reliable sources for detailed care instructions.
Propagation: Dunn's tainia is a lesser-known terrestrial orchid that propagates through division during dormancy. Use a sterile blade to split pseudobulbs, ensuring each has a growth point. Maintain high humidity and dappled light post-division to mimic its native habitat for successful recovery and growth.
