Triphasias are evergreen shrubs growing to 1 to 3 m tall, with trifoliate leaves. The flowers are fragrant, white, with three to five petals. The fruit is an edible red hesperidium. Triphasia is a small genus of three species in the family Rutaceae, related to Citrus. The genus is native to southeastern Asia and New Guinea.
Water:
Triphasia prefers conditions akin to its tropical origins, thriving in high humidity and consistent moisture. Water once every 1-2 weeks, keeping soil evenly moist. Regular misting is beneficial, especially in heated indoor environments that can lower humidity.
Propagation:
Propagation of triphasia can be achieved through seed sowing and cuttings, requiring warm temperatures, high humidity, and well-draining soil. Grafting may enhance results. Cuttings require selecting healthy stems, cutting 4-6 inches, using rooting hormone, and maintaining high humidity until rooted.
