Distribution of Baby lime

Distribution Map
Baby lime is naturally found in Southeast Asia, where it thrives in tropical climates. While cultivated in certain areas, baby lime has also spread to regions in Central and South America, and the Caribbean. In some parts of the Pacific, baby lime is sometimes thought to be invasive, where it may have an impact on native ecosystems. Its growth is managed to preserve local flora and avoid widespread ecological disruption.

Water: Baby lime prefers high humidity and consistent moisture, thriving with soil that is evenly moist but not waterlogged. Watering once every 1-2 weeks is ideal. It generally grows better indoors, where humidity can be managed, supporting its lush evergreen foliage.
Fertilize: Baby lime thrives with balanced, slow-release fertilizers applied bi-monthly during the growing season. Adjust fertilization frequency in winter and based on growth stage. Water thoroughly after application to prevent root burn, and wear gloves to avoid over-fertilization and nutrient run-off.
Pruning: Baby lime thrives with regular pruning, which includes cutting dead wood and managing growth. Best done from early to late spring, pruning enhances air circulation, promotes health, and boosts fruit yield. For specific care, consult reliable horticultural sources.
Propagation: Baby lime is a small shrub cultivated for its fragrant flowers and edible red berries. Propagation is best via semi-hardwood cuttings from healthy branches, treated with rooting hormone and planted in well-draining mix, ensuring moisture and warmth for successful root development.
