Home > Question
How often should grape hyacinth be watered?
The grape hyacinth requires a good amount of water during the spring and summer to first grow its pretty flowers, and then its foliage afterwards. Water your plant every week in the spring and at the beginning of summer, and then start to space the watering out as you move towards the fall. This is to prevent over-watering the soil around the bulb, which can lead to bulb rot.
If your grape hyacinth is planted in a container, then always check how wet the soil is before watering. It should be slightly damp, but not soggy. Make sure that the soil in the container is well-draining.
