How to Grow and Care for Dragon tree

Dragon tree, also known as Drago, Canary Islands Dragon Tree, Dragon Blood Tree, Socotra Dragon Tree

Dragon tree is a robust and hardy species that is generally easy to care for, making it an ideal choice for both beginners and experienced plant enthusiasts. Two key care points for dragon tree include ensuring the plant receives bright, indirect light and maintaining a consistent watering routine, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Overwatering is a common issue, so proper drainage and avoiding waterlogged soil are essential for dragon tree's health.

Dragon tree is distinguished by its stout form, often developing a massive, broad stature reaching up to 25 feet (7.6 meters) tall and wide. This species has a unique growth pattern, staying unbranched until flowering occurs, after which two dominant branches emerge. Its thick branches terminate in clusters of pliable, sword-shaped blue-green leaves that can grow up to 2 feet (60 cm) long and 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) wide. Blossoming in early summer, dragon tree bears greenish-white flowers followed by orange berries. When wounded, the bark exudes a reddish resin.
