Name Story
Dragon tree: The dragon tree is known for its thick, red resin called "dragon's blood". It got the name from one of the tales of Hercules's adventures. The legend has it that there were 3 golden apples were guarded by 100 dragons. Hercules managed to defeat the dragons and acquired the apples. Dracaena Draco grew when it was in contact with dragon blood. The trunk of the plant appears like a scaled dragon leg, so it is called the dragon tree.

Soil Type
Water: Dragon tree thrives in arid conditions, showing excellent drought tolerance. Water every two weeks to avoid over-saturation. Best grown indoors for air purification, it requires well-draining soil in containers to support its growth and prevent root rot.
Fertilize: For optimal growth of dragon tree, use high nitrogen fertilizer in spring and summer, reducing frequency in fall and stopping in winter. Young dragon tree should be fertilized bimonthly, while mature ones every 6-8 weeks, with half the recommended dosage to prevent root burn.
Pruning: Dragon tree is a tall, hardy plant with unique foliage. Prune in early to late winter to promote growth and shape; trim dead leaves above nodes. Use clean, sharp tools to reduce stress and disease risk. Avoid over-pruning to maintain its natural form.
Propagation: Dragon tree is propagated through semi-hardwood cuttings with at least one node. Use rooting hormone and plant in well-draining soil, maintaining warmth and moisture. Regular misting enhances humidity; however, avoid waterlogged conditions to prevent rot.
Repotting: Repot dragon tree every 2-3 years in spring using a slightly larger pot with drainage. After repotting, water sparingly and provide bright, indirect light for recovery, promoting sturdy, vertical growth.
